ADOPTION STORIES:

Benji has a new home with Michael, a very nice young man from a Shelbyville, TN. It was love at first site for both of them. Benji will be very happy in his new home.

Cocoa, a sweet Chocolate Lab mix, found a wonderful forever home with Jeremy.  She’s getting lots of love, toys, treats and attention.  Here's an updated picture of the pair in Amsterdam! Cocoa is one lucky dog.

Two male kittens, named Oscar and Meyer since they were given bologna to aid their capture, were found at a local garbage collection center.  The operator was feeding the kitties and was aware that a forever home was needed.  The two healthy but very shy lightweights were picked up by a HSDC volunteer, examined by our veterinarian, given their initial vaccinations and treated for internal parasites. Oscar was sneezing, and so was given an antibiotic to treat his upper respiratory infection.    Oscar and Meyer are now thriving in their cozy new home as The Kings of the Barn. These former wild guys love their human caregivers' attention, bottomless food and water dishes, warmth and security, and ability to play freely, as kittens should.  They will be "fixed" at an appropriate age and will remain active as the Mouse Police in their role as The  Kings the Barn. (and warmers of the human hearts).
