HOW YOU CAN HELP

 

ADOPT A PET:

Pets that need loving homes are available and eager for adoption. Please open your heart and home to one of these wonderful dogs or cats. You can find pictures and descriptions of our available pets on this site and also at www.1-800-save-a-pet.com or www.petfinder.com.

 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

We need volunteers for the following opportunities:

• Help with Snip and Tip one weekend each month or every other month

• Help with fundraising activities

• Help with Adoption Days one weekend each month in front of Food Lion

• Help by fostering a homeless pet in your home

• Help taking pictures of our homeless pets for the newspaper and internet (some experience preferred)

• Help with humane education programs, talking to children about responsible pet ownership, dog bite prevention, the need to take good care of our animal friends, etc. (materials provided)
  

SHOP ON-LINE:

Go to www.igive.com/HSDC and choose the Humane Society of DeKalb County as your cause that you want to support. Then simply do your on-line shopping by using igive.com's links to well over 600 on-line retailers. A portion of your purchases will go to support HSDC. Not only is this free to you, you will be given access to great specials and special discounts for iGive members. And, you will be helping the Humane Society of DeKalb County to help pet-owners take better care of their pets.

 

DONATIONS:
All donations are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated. Donations are needed to purchase more traps for the feral cat “snip & tip” program. Other programs needing funding are the spay/neuter voucher program and the foster program, to care for animals until we can find them a permanent home. Funds are also needed for advertising, printing supplies, etc. We’ll also take donations of craft items or new or gently used items that we can sell or auction. Checks may be mailed to:

LET US RECYCLE YOUR ALUMINUM CANS:

HSDC recycles cans all year long. Please save your aluminum cans and call us at 615-464-6738 to have them picked up by an HSDC volunteer.
